As families settle back into new routines, September can bring additional pressures for parents and carers.

At CoECT, you have access to practical, trauma-informed support, resources and opportunities to connect — helping you find guidance, community and wellbeing support when you need it.

This Month's Training & Events

Throughout September, we have a range of live online training opportunities, offering practical insights and guidance for those supporting children and families.

Understanding Neurodiversity & Trauma-Informed Parenting

📅 Monday 21 September | 💻 Live Online

Explore neurodiversity alongside trauma-informed parenting, with practical insights to help better understand and respond to children's needs.

Safeguarding, Harm & Contextual Risk

📅 Friday 25 September | 💻 Live Online

Develop your understanding of safeguarding, harm and contextual risk, and consider how trauma-informed approaches can strengthen the support we offer.

Meet, Connect & Feel Less Alone

As part of your CoECT membership, you have access to our T.I.Ps Meet-Ups — relaxed, supportive spaces where you can connect with other parents and carers who understand the realities of parenting children affected by trauma.

In September, there are both virtual and in-person opportunities to connect, including a dedicated meet-up for men and a new virtual meet-up for SGO and kinship carers.

These informal sessions are a chance to share experiences, exchange practical ideas, ask questions and build supportive connections with others who understand.

Virtual Meet-Ups

  • T.I.Ps Meet-Up for Men — Tuesday 8 September, 8:00–9:00pm

  • Virtual T.I.Ps Meet-Up — Thursday 17 September, 10:00–11:00am

  • NEW: SGO/Kinship Carers Virtual Meet-Up — Friday 18 September, 12:00–1:00pm

In-Person Meet-Ups

  • Cumbria Meet-Up — Thursday 10 September, 10:30am–1:30pm

  • West Cumbria Meet-Up — Tuesday 22 September, 10:30am–12:30pm

🌿 The Calm Reset

20 minutes to pause, breathe and reset.

The Calm Reset offers you a gentle opportunity to step away from the pressures of everyday life and create a little space for yourself, calm and wellbeing.

Using simple grounding techniques, Havening touch and guided imagery, these short virtual sessions are designed to help you settle your nervous system, reconnect with yourself and support a greater sense of calm.

Day Retreat for Weary Parents

📅 Friday 25th September

Our September Day Retreat for Weary Parents is an opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life, pause, recharge and focus on your own wellbeing.

If you’re experiencing compassion fatigue or simply feeling worn out, there are still a few spaces available. This could be a chance to take some much-needed time for yourself, connect with others and receive support.
