Christmas can be a fun and exciting time of year, however it can also be a stressful for children who have experienced early life trauma or have neurodiverse characteristics. Change of routine, different events, and lots of visitors, not to mention the decorations, lights, and noises, can lead to sensory overwhelm. You are likely to find your own way to navigate the festive season, and this can be a steep learning curve which our children help us to understand. As time goes by, you will learn what works, and what doesn't, and also encompass new traditions which fit your family.
