Supportive Listening Call
Service Description
Our supportive listening service (formerly known as NATPs Empathic Listening Service) offers a safe and compassionate space for you to share your thoughts and feelings. Our trained listeners practice empathic listening to ensure you feel heard, understood, and valued. Whether you're facing a challenging time or simply need someone to talk to, we're here to support you.
Cancellation Policy
Empathetic listening is a supportive, non‑clinical practice intended to provide space, understanding, and emotional presence. Volunteers and staff offering empathetic listening are not acting as therapists, counsellors, or mental‑health professionals, and cannot provide medical, legal, or crisis intervention advice. All conversations are held with respect and confidentiality within the limits of safeguarding policies. If a listener becomes concerned about someone’s safety or wellbeing, they may need to share information with the appropriate safeguarding lead or emergency services. By participating in empathetic listening, individuals acknowledge that this support is not a substitute for professional mental‑health care and may be encouraged to seek qualified help when appropriate.
