Funded Trauma‑Informed Training for the Social Care Sector

Untitled design_edited.jpg
The Centre of Excellence in Child Trauma has recently converted to a not-for profit training and support hub. We have now received funds to enable us to provide free trauma-informed training to Social Workers in Local Authority teams, Universities and Charities via our Social Care Hub.

The Social Care Sector Hub - for Local Authorities & Charitable Organisations working in Social Care.

For Local Authorities and Charitabile Organisations who work in children's social care we have created The Social Care Sector Hub, which has a variety of trauma-informed webinars available to support social workers and support staff working in children's social care.

The free training is delivered mainly by our well-known keynote speakers, Sarah Naish and Sarah Dillon. Both are best-selling authors in the field, with essential ‘lived-in’ experience.

Formats available are;

  • Online webinars will be available for 7 days once you start watching via The Social Care Sector Hub.

  • Small in-person/live online workshop*

*Please be aware that funded spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. For ‘in person’ events, Local Authorities/Charitable Organisations would be expected to pay for the trainers’ travel and hotel costs where applicable.

The Social Care Hub provides webinars on practical, trauma‑informed approaches that social care professionals can apply immediately.

Topics include:

- Understanding the impact of childhood trauma

- Behaviour as communication

- Trauma‑informed strategies for social work practice

- Supporting families using therapeutic approaches

- Real‑life insights from lived experience

Delegates consistently report feeling inspired and better equipped to support children and families.

What The Social Care Sector Hub includes...

Keynote Speaking in Universities

Our keynote speakers and best-selling authors Sarah Naish and Sarah Dillon have delivered keynotes in universities, fostering and adoption teams, and many LAs and are now offering opportunities to Social Work students and their supporters. Delegates are inspired by their first hand knowledge of the impact of childhood trauma, strategies and solutions, and best related practice in Social Work.

Sarah Naish is an adopter of five siblings and former social worker. Sarah Dillon speaks powerfully from her own perspective as a former child in care, now a highly successful Attachment Therapist.

Both speakers are also fully involved in best practice for True Fostering EOT (Ofsted Outstanding) and Safer fostering CIC (Wales) Not for profit. They have worked together with the team at The Centre of Excellence in Child Trauma to develop independently accredited trauma informed qualifications in the sector and also developed and implemented practical tools for better social work practice.
