Time-Out for Parents and the use of Micro-breaks.
We aren’t talking about the time-out used in standard parenting, where parents put their children in time-out to think about their actions. This potentially shame-inducing technique is especially unhelpful for children who have experienced early life trauma and leaves little opportunity for the child to be supported in regulating their emotions.
