Managing the Early Days

First meetings and moving a child into your family are among the most important steps in helping a child—especially a traumatised child—settle well.

This session focuses on understanding what may be going through the child’s mind, based on their previous experiences, which may have taught them to be wary of adults. At the same time, parents will reflect on their own mindset and learn how stepping back and adjusting expectations can support a smoother transition.
